皆さんこんにちは。カナダで保育士をしているmayです。
カナダの保育園では、ほとんどの園で「サークルタイム」という
本を読み聞かせたり、歌をうたったりする時間を設けていますが、
このサークルタイムは保育士が自ら準備した道具や本を使って行います。
そこで、私が一番大変だなと思ったのが、歌。
日本語であれば小さい時によく歌った歌などすぐに出てきますが、
何しろカナダで育っていない外国人な私にとって
どんな歌が有名でどんな歌が親しまれているかが全く謎。
特に今担当している0〜2歳児のプログラムでは、
興味をもってしっかり聞いてくれる子もいれば
なかなか落ち着きの無い子どももいるので、
注意をひきつけるのが大変！
その中でも、この曲なら覚えるのが簡単で
食いつきもイイ！という曲を3曲、今日は紹介したいと思います！

こちらは日本語で言うときらきら星。
実は私、アメリカに住んでいる親戚のおばさんに
小さい時この「きらきら星」英語版を習ったので
この曲だけは英語で歌えました。
日本語でも知っている曲を英語で歌うのは、
歌詞を覚えればいいだけなので比較的簡単！

ちょっと長いですが、よく聞いているとストーリー性のある歌詞になっています。
赤ちゃんが泣いてお母さんが”しーっ！”って言っているところなんかは
すごくリアルに情景が思い描けますよね笑
バスのおもちゃなどを片手に持ってやると盛り上がります。

こちらは短い曲なので、がんばれば覚えられる長さ。
Openのところで手を開き、shut themのところで手を握る、
“グーパー”みたいな動きをしたあとに手をぱちぱちする、
というような動作が伴う歌。
0〜2歳の子どもたちでもできる単純な動きなので、
ちょっと注意を引きたいとき等にやるといいです。
Do not let them in!のところが結構みんな喜びます。
